Daylan Weatherup Character Design

   While this sketch may not seem like a character at first it is actually a Demon who's soul has been infused into this spear. Even though there wasn't a specific object that influenced this design. One of my friends and I had an idea for a game a few months ago and this is one of the first designs that I came up with while brainstorming the visuals for the game. Trope: The trope for this one is easy, the demon trapped in the spear is a heavenly entity of old whose soul was corrupted by the demon Mephisto. He was tricked and his soul was bound to the spear as a form of eternal punishment. Not only is the spear able to be used by those in the ranks of the dead. It also inflicts whatever pain it causes onto the fallen angels soul.

  The object I found was a cabinet door in the Red Library in the communications building. I found it intriguing do the fact that not all of the doors are actually symmetrical. They are all slightly different in both shape and size. The lines aren't parallel and it really just has quite and interesting shape when you really look at it. The background for my character is that there is a small wizard who is able to transport himself into the world of the books he touches. He enters the world and is able to influence the events of the story and therefore rewriting the text in the process.
